A typical scene as one travels through Ireland! Rugged mountain terrain with the sheep roaming freely wherever they please. In the late spring and into summer the mountainsides are coloured with purple heather which I have tried to capture here with purple silk and wool fibers. The wool for the sheep in this image actually comes from the backs of the Valais Blacknose breed!
